DESCRIPTION:How badly are we in need to choose our own choice?  \nThe Ex-Piercing Arts group presents the participatory performance Ichnilat(r)is. \nIn the underground parking lot of an under-construction hotel\, every corner becomes a place of search\, conflict\, and revelation. Through movement\, speech\, and space\, the audience is invited to participate\, to decide whether to observe or act\, whether to let others determine their path or to chart their own course. \nAn experience that explores responsibility\, choice\, and the traces we leave behind; a quest that poses the eternal question:  \nAre we eventually the result of our own choices? \nNote: On Sunday October 19th and Saturday 25th of October the performance will be filmed. \n– \nΗ ομάδα Ex-Piercing Arts παρουσιάζει τη συμμετοχική παράσταση Ιχνηλάτ(ρ)ης. \nΣτον υπόγειο χώρο στάθμευσης ενός υπό ανέγερση ξενοδοχείου\, κάθε γωνιά γίνεται τόπος αναζήτησης\, σύγκρουσης και αποκάλυψης. DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: \nFollowing the enthusiastic audience feedback from last Saturday’s live broadcast\, the artists are delighted to announce that this Saturday\, November 1st\, they will be hosting instead a live walk in Anafotia village\, starting at 15:00 at Cafe Aman (Αγίας Φωτεινής 12\, Anafotia 7573). \nParticipants will have the opportunity to view the paintings on-site\, experience recorded material at each stop\, and conclude with a projection of Stass. \nPlease note that the live broadcast will not take place at Youth Makerspace Larnaca on November 1st. \nWe hope you’ll join us in Anafotia and enjoy a more experimental and immersive afternoon with the artists. \n📍 The exact location can be found here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/cXmYbBekEeC1ovbc6 \n  \nAbout the performance: \n“Tracing Stass” is a tribute to the iconic Cypriot artist and educator Stass Paraskos\, born in Anaphotia\, west of Larnaca. “Stass Paraskos is considered the most significant Cypriot artist of his generation” (The Guardian\, 2014). \nA performative walk will be led by the artists through Stass’ childhood surroundings and the landscapes that inspired his work. \nThis performance reconnects the past with the present\, exploring layers of home and memory while enabling participants to engage with Stass’ work. The presenting artists trace Stass’ steps in Anaphotia and guide viewers on a journey through time and space. Along the walking route\, viewers will explore the juxtapositions of Stass’ topography and the memories preserved on the canvases of his landscape paintings\, strategically placed at key locations. Each encounter features pre-recorded reflections from childhood friends\, family\, colleagues\, and art professionals. \nThe walk concludes when Koutsoftides and Pruciak encounter a video installation featuring a short interview with Stass. This gesture allows Stass\, metaphorically and symbolically\, to revisit his home village. SUMMARY:Weaving Unity: Showcase Event / Celebration
DESCRIPTION:GR and TR text follow\nA bicommunal artistic gesture of reconciliation\, collective creation\, and reweaving through art. \n“There is a line\, and then there is what lies beyond it. Some lines divide. Others connect. What if we could choose which one?” \nWeaving Unity is a two-day bicommunal art project that brings together Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots through a symbolic weaving workshop (25/10/2025) and an open artistic celebration (26/10/2025). \n🟠 SHOWCASE EVENT & CELEBRATION 🟠 \nOn October 26th\, the general public is invited to view the artwork created during the one-day bicommunal workshop\, meet the participants\, and join an artistic celebration featuring visual mapping\, visual art\, music\, live performance\, and the first-ever architectural projection on a historical building in Larnaca. \nThe project is curated by interdisciplinary designer Konstantinos Charilaou. \nThe space comes alive with soundscapes (by artists/musicians Alejjos\, Vanesha\, and Nicholas Loizou)\, live Ney (musician Vassilis Philippou)\, bilingual performance (performer Tahini Molasses)\, and visual projections (by Cyprus Surreal & Charizart)\, transforming the space into a shared\, pulsing rhythm of togetherness. \nThe building façade will feature Larnacas’ first full architectural mapping as part of the artistic narrative. \n  \nGR\n \nΜια δικοινοτική καλλιτεχνική χειρονομία συμφιλίωσης\, συλλογικής δημιουργίας και επανασύνδεσης μέσα από την τέχνη. \n«Υπάρχει μια γραμμή\, και μετά υπάρχει αυτό που βρίσκεται πέρα από αυτή. Κάποιες γραμμές χωρίζουν. Άλλες ενώνουν. Τι θα γινόταν αν μπορούσαμε να επιλέξουμε εμείς τη δική μας;» \nΤο Weaving Unity είναι ένα διήμερο δικοινοτικό καλλιτεχνικό project που φέρνει κοντά Ελληνοκύπριους και Τουρκοκύπριους μέσα από ένα συμβολικό εργαστήριο ύφανσης (25/10/2025) και μια ανοιχτή καλλιτεχνική γιορτή (26/10/2025). \n🟠 ΠΑΡΟΥΣΙΑΣΗ & ΓΙΟΡΤΗ \nΣτις 26 Οκτωβρίου\, το κοινό καλείται να δει το έργο που θα δημιουργηθεί κατά τη διάρκεια του μονοήμερου δικοινοτικού εργαστηρίου\, να γνωρίσει τους συμμετέχοντες και να συμμετάσχει σε μια καλλιτεχνική γιορτή με visual mapping\, εικαστικές παρεμβάσεις\, μουσική\, ζωντανές performances και την πρώτη αρχιτεκτονική προβολή σε ιστορικό κτήριο της Λάρνακας. \nΤην καλλιτεχνική επιμέλεια υπογράφει ο διεπιστημονικός σχεδιαστής Κωνσταντίνος Χαριλάου. \nΟ χώρος θα ζωντανέψει με ήχο (από τους καλλιτέχνες / μουσικούς Alejjos\, Vanesha και Nicholas Loizou)\, ζωντανή εκτέλεση Ney (μουσικός Βασίλης Φιλίππου)\, δίγλωσση performance (performer Tahini Molasses) και εικαστικές προβολές (από Cyprus Surreal & Charizart)\, μετατρέποντας τον χώρο σε έναν κοινόχρηστο\, παλλόμενο ρυθμό συνύπαρξης. \nΗ πρόσοψη του κτηρίου θα φιλοξενήσει το πρώτο πλήρες αρχιτεκτονικό mapping στην Λάρνακα ως μέρος της καλλιτεχνικής αφήγησης. \n  \nTR\n \nİki toplumlu bir sanatsal uzlaşı\, kolektif üretim ve sanat aracılığıyla yeniden bağ kurmaya doğru bir adım. \n“Bir çizgi vardır\, bir de onun ötesinde olan. Bazı çizgiler ayırır. Bazıları ise birleştirir. Peki ya hangisini seçeceğimize biz karar verebilseydik?” \nWeaving Unity\, Kıbrıslı Rumlar ile Kıbrıslı Türkleri bir araya getiren iki günlük bir iki toplumlu sanat projesidir. DESCRIPTION:The philosophical swim is dedicated to Zeno\, the ancient Greek philosopher and native of Larnaca (Kition).\nThe motto is “I think\, therefore I swim\, I swim therefore I am”. To what extent is philosophy relevant today? What are the real philosophical issues\, and why are they important? To what extent does philosophy as a form of exploring reality fit into the lines and patterns of Larnaca\, and how it shape and influence the people? \nIgor Shnurenko and Molly Tallant made a 10-minute philosophical film about such a swim. The film is based on Igor Shnurenko’s philosophical reflections on Larnaca\, the collective memory of the city\, and the forms it took. \nTimeline: \n10:30 – Meet at LIV Simple Deli Cafe\, in the lobby of the LIV Mackenzie Beach Suites Hotel\, under the sign “I think therefore I swim.” \nA raffle will be held among the swim participants by the host\, Igor Shnurenko. Each participant will receive a philosophical question to reflect on during the swim. \nPlease bring your own towels. Showers and changing cabins are available on the first floor of the hotel\, kindly provided by the administration. \n11:00 – Swim starts at Mackenzie Beach\, opposite the hotel. What if we could choose which one?” \nWeaving Unity is a two-day bicommunal art project that brings together Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots through a symbolic weaving workshop (25/10/2025) and an open artistic celebration (26/10/2025)\, as part of the official parallel events of Larnaca Biennale 2025. \nThe project is curated by interdisciplinary designer Konstantinos Charilaou\, while the workshop will be led by Weaving Urban Artist Iphigenia Papageorgiou\, who will guide participants through a collective\, textile-based process of connection and creative collaboration. \n🟡WORKSHOP DETAILS🟡  \nWorkshop participants are invited to bring a personal or recycled piece of fabric\, which will be woven into a large-scale collective artwork (h200cm x w150cm) using a metal fence structure. DESCRIPTION:The curator’s walk takes place through the streets and shoreline of Larnaca during the Biennale\, where the city itself becomes both setting and subject. Inspired by David Le Breton’s notion of walking as a way of inscribing meaning in the world\, the walk invites participants to encounter Larnaca not as a backdrop but as a living body of memory and movement. \nRather than a conventional guided tour\, the walk becomes a shared choreography of attention. Silence\, listening\, or reflection are introduced as ways of attuning to Larnaca’s layered presence. In this way\, the city reveals itself as archive and stage\, both fragile and enduring. \nThrough the act of walking\, participants inscribe themselves into Larnaca’s ongoing story. DESCRIPTION:At Zouhouri Square\, Liv Ingeborg Ottersen is present for the entire duration of the Larnaca Biennale\, welcoming visitors and inviting them to take part in her evolving artwork. \nCatch Liv Ingeborg Ottersen on October 16th from 17:30 to 20:00\, alongside multiple performances at Zouhouri Square\, or visit on any other day during the Biennale. \nThe work begins with delicate strips of colored tulle\, each threaded with fine cords\, inviting passers by to attach their personal messages. Soft\, almost iridescent shades of tulle create a dreamlike\, floating backdrop. Over time\, the fragments are woven together on-site\, forming a flowing curtain that transforms as contributions accumulate. \nParticipants are encouraged to write wishes\, reflections\, or private thoughts on small pieces of paper\, folding them into sealed notes before fastening them to the hanging threads. These notes act as visual markers\, recalling traditions in which offerings are placed or tied within sacred or communal spaces. Με την πάροδο του χρόνου\, τα κομμάτια υφαίνονται επιτόπου\, σχηματίζοντας μια ρέουσα κουρτίνα που μεταμορφώνεται καθώς προστίθενται νέες συνεισφορές. \nΟι συμμετέχοντες ενθαρρύνονται να γράψουν ευχές\, σκέψεις ή προσωπικά συναισθήματα σε μικρά κομμάτια χαρτιού\, διπλώνοντάς τα σε σφραγισμένα σημειώματα πριν τα στερεώσουν στα κρεμασμένα νήματα. Αυτά τα σημειώματα λειτουργούν ως οπτικοί δείκτες\, παραπέμποντας σε παραδόσεις όπου προσφορές τοποθετούνται ή δένονται σε ιερούς ή κοινοτικούς χώρους.
