Larnaca Biennale had its first edition in 2018 and the first Arts Biennial ever organised in Cyprus took place on the 17th of October until the 30th November 2018 in the city of Larnaca.
Through an international open call for artists and under the curational theme ‘Container & Content’ , Larnaca Biennale 2018 received 307 artwork proposals from 37 countries. From these proposals , 113 were selected to be exhibited.
The aim of this evaluation report is to provide to the public all main points, figures and facts of Larnaca Biennale 2018 with transparency and objectivity. It is our duty and obligation as an organising team to provide measurable results to the general public , to artists , our supporters and sponsors .
Having taken feedback from artists, collaborators and spectators the organisers can only ensure that Larnaca Biennale 2020 will be more successful, have an even higher impact and serve arts and culture with the same passion and commitment.
Larnaca Biennale in 2018 had more than 18000 visitors at the main exhibition places, 4000 spectators attending the parallel events and is the biggest and most popular International arts event in Cyprus . Your evaluation report was very comprehensive, but I missed information on your business plan ( goals, targetgroups, strategie, budgets and number of volunteers/ hours spent per segment/projects/overhead/etc. , media coverage details. Besides mentioning the budget deficit a detailed cost overview would be appreciated. But first of all I want to congratulate all the people who made the Biennale into a success in terms of participation.
