Larnaca Biennale had its second edition (LB2) from the 13th of October until the 26th of November 2021. A challenging edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic that affected selected artists from abroad, artwork shipment and the number of visitors/ spectators.
Despite all restrictions LB2 managed to have a substantial number of visitors , overcome any obstacles , adapt to extraordinary circumstances and exceed expectations by providing a high standard organisation.
Through an international open call and under the curational theme ‘Limitless Limits ’ , Larnaca Biennale 2021 received 340 artwork proposals from 50 countries. From these proposals , 81 were selected and 77 were exhibited.
The aim of this evaluation report is to provide to the public all main points, figures and facts of Larnaca Biennale 2021 with transparency and objectivity. It is our duty and obligation as an organising team to provide measurable results to the general public , to artists , our supporters and sponsors .
LB2 was completed successfully with significant improvements , additions and new collaborations that are reported in this evaluation .
Having taken feedback from artists, collaborators and visitors the Larnaca Biennale Team can only ensure that Larnaca Biennale 2023 (LB3) will be more successful, have an even higher impact and serve arts , culture and society with the same passion and commitment.
